Smith Wedding Weekend

This weekend has FINALLY arrived!! I have been waiting for this event for over a year now and am SO excited to have been a part it!! Sarah and I flew into Milwaukee on Wednesday evening and then proceeded to re-live Kaitlin's bach party all over again... including a ride on the mechanical bull!! :)

Thursday was filled with pre-wedding preparation!! Lots of napping, snacking, pampering, and a rehearsal at the Milwaukee Zoo.

On Friday we awoke to a cloudy sky and rain :( We headed out to the salon to get our hair done, and just as we were leaving, the clouds parted and left us with nothing but sunshine and blue skies!! Crisis averted!!

The rest of the day went off without a hitch and the beautiful and happy couple were married that afternoon. The setting was amazing and fit the "peacock" theme of the wedding perfectly.

We spent the rest of the night partying like animals!! We enjoyed live music, BBQ, and a late-night triple order from Toppers. All in all, the weekend was perfect!!
Kait and Murray... we wish you nothing but the best of luck and cheers to a happy life together!! We love you both very much!

Brew at the Zoo

Another summer weekend behind us... but boy did we enjoy it!! Kevin and I partied like animals, literally, on Friday night at "Brew at the Zoo." The Minnesota Zoo hosted the event, with beer sampling, live music by G.B. Leighton and the option to tour the Russian Bear Exhibit. We danced to the music and had many samples of my new favorite beer, Bennie, which is brewed by Granite City. Yum....

On Saturday, while Kevin played with the dogs, I ventured to Cumberland to "shower" Abby with gifts. We are so excited about Abby and Ben's upcoming wedding and are really looking forward to celebrate with them.

That night we visited with my cousin Heidi and her family. They were in town for their annual family vacation so Kevin and I crashed their family time with beer and pizza!!
Sunday was spent at Minnehaha Park letting the dogs run and swim in the river. While there, we were able to finally enjoy fresh seafood at the Sea Salt Eatery! Best scallops I have ever had!!

Stillwater

On Sunday, Kevin and I enjoyed a day in Stillwater envisioning our wedding.  We spent the afternoon wandering Aamodts Apple Farm and the St Croix Vineyard searching for the perfect ceremony site... and sampling the wine selection.  Our favorite... Frotenac, a U of M developed grape that is harvested locally and aged in oak barrels... yummy!!

We then headed downtown to check out the local establishments and grab dinner at Luna Rosa.  In conclusion, 2 out of 2 parties agree that Stillwater is going to be a main factor in our wedding day!
